ACCENT TO HIRE 130 FOR NEW ALBANY LOCATION

LOUISVILLE, KY (December 16, 2003) -- ACCENT, LLC will hire 130 new employees at its New Albany facility, as part of the international customer-relationship management company’s growth.

ACCENT operates a customer contact center, print shop and direct mail-fulfillment center at the Park East business park off Indiana 111 and Grant Line Road. The company partners with Fortune 1000 clients such as Sprint, Maytag, Murray, Sears and General Electric to conduct customer care, loyalty marketing and customer-satisfaction programs.

Gary Owens, ACCENT chief executive officer, said the sluggish economy has actually meant growth for ACCENT.

We’re seeing in the industry many large companies looking to outsource customer relationship management functions, as a way to leverage cost and efficiencies, Owens said.

ACCENT’s new jobs will include customer service and quality representatives, trainers and managers, and pay will range between $7.50 and $14.00 per hour based on experience and position. The new hires are expected to be phased in over the next 5 months.

Employees of ACCENT’s New Albany location have been known to throw a luau in the parking lot, or work in a bathrobe and slippers on Pajama Day.

We put sincere emphasis on making ACCENT an enjoyable place to work, said Shawn Manley, general manager of the New Albany contact center.

In addition to the fun, Manley cited a relaxed and casual work environment, opportunities to advance, and an engaging team spirit among the full complement of benefits that help drive ACCENT’s workplace culture.

This year, ACCENT received a Work/Life Alliance designation from Greater Louisville Inc. The designation recognizes area companies that excel in helping their employees maintain a work/life balance by offering benefits that focus on creating a balance between demands of the office to those the employee faces at home.

Currently, ACCENT’s New Albany contact center employs 125 people and ramps up to 190 employees for seasonal work. In total, the fast-growing company employs more than 1,700 people in six U.S. cities and Trinidad.
