Call Center to Locate in Farmington, Missouri
The City of Farmington will soon have a new business. Joint efforts between the
City of Farmington, Farmington Industrial Development Authority, Mineral Area
College, and the Missouri Department of Economic Development have resulted in
an announcement by ACCENT Marketing Services, LLC of Jeffersonville, Indiana of
its intent to locate a new inbound call center in Farmington.
It is anticipated the location of the call center in Farmington will bring
approximately 450 new jobs to the area. These jobs will include customer
service and quality representatives, trainers and managers with attractive pay
ranges based on experience and position. The company expects to begin
operations in January 2006, phasing in new hires over the next four to eight
months.

“We did extensive research to find the right location for our ninth customer
care center and we are excited to announce our partnership with Farmington,”
said Kevin Foley, President of ACCENT. “We were very impressed with the way
many facets of the Farmington community pulled together to attract and welcome
us. We envision a center in Farmington that sets the standard for all ACCENT
customer care centers worldwide and for the industry in general. We believe
Farmington’s leaders and citizens have the same ‘can do’ attitude as ACCENT to
make that vision a reality.”
Charles Rorex, Mayor for the City of Farmington, said, “It is important that
when a new business considers coming to town, great care be taken to ensure a
good fit between the company and the community. We feel we have found that fit
with ACCENT Marketing Services and are excited to have them as a new member of
the community.”
“This is a perfect example of how when a community works together, great things
can be achieved,” commented Chip Peterson, President of Farmington Industrial
Development Authority. “Over the past eighteen months we have had two similar
projects consider Farmington, but have not come in higher than second place.
With the continued efforts of those involved, we have seen success. With this
project we are able to increase income, revenue, and taxes to the community
which leads to an increase in the quality of life. I would like to thank
everyone who has played a part in making this possible. I look forward to a
great marriage between the community and new industry; one which will help us
look into the future at where industry is going.”
"I am pleased that ACCENT Marketing Services is committed to creating jobs and
investing in Missouri," said Greg Steinhoff, director of the Missouri
Department of Economic Development. "The state is also committed to working in
partnership with the city of Farmington and the company to do everything we can
to move this project forward."
Dr. Terry Barnes, President of Mineral Area College, stated, "This is a great
example of how the investment the local tax payers make in the College returns
their investment many times over, and the important role community colleges
play in economic development. We are all proud of the role the College was able
to play in making this project a reality, and our staff is prepared to assist
with the training needs of Accent employees."
A job fair is scheduled to be held at the Farmington Centene
Center on Thursday, November 3, 2005 from 11:00am to 7:30pm. Questions in
reference to the job fair and position qualifications may be directed to
Workforce Employment Solutions at (573) 756-6700.
